My First Mod In My New RX7!

nothing special, just a drop in K&N filter, made a surprising difference in sound and throttle responce, definately worth the 70 CAD it cost. I wasn't particually pleased with the K&N for my old 240, it didn't really do anything that i could hear or feel, but the RX7 definately liked it. Ignition work is next. need to boost that fuel milage a bit.

what kind of 7 do u have? You probably just need to change the plugs or maybe even the wires the stock ignition on the 7s are very good. Congrats on your first mod.....you'll see that its the first of many.....Good luck.

Boost the fuel mileage:confused:
Wrong car buddy:D

Surgically replace lead foot with new lightweight carbon fibre foot usually will help with the MPG's;)

Timing advance = free power = boost in MPG if you don't use the power. Oxygen sensor brought me from the low to high teens. It was definitely worth the $30.

What is your fuel mileage?

ImportFanatic 11-09-02 12:45 PM

Ok, To answer the questions, its an 87 GXL, I'm in Prince George, and I'm choosing the Ignition to help with fuel economy because it was able to boost the 240sx i had to an extra 125 kilometers per tank at least, and deadRX7Conv, just to let you know, the car hasn't seen 60mph or redline since i brought it home, definately not signs of a lead foot...

How terribly terribly sad, if you want to do that with the car buy a cibic! This is a sports car buddy, treat it like one.

i forgot who said it on here but just keep in mind:

"a redline a day, keeps the rotary mechanics at bay"

:D

I love that quote :D

In all seriousness, babying a rx7 like you are will cause it to blow up when you get on it. Stop it.

true true ;) My first mod was also the air filter. Took out the stock air box and put on a k&n my self. But the k&n split on me ;( don't ask me how but it did, so i swapped it out and put on one of those reactive filters with the heat shield on it and i see no change other than it looks better :). I think that instead of your ignition next work on the exhaust and than the fuel system!

ImportFanatic 11-09-02 04:08 PM

You see, i would drive it harder but the fact remains the roads are in no condition to be driving like that right now, I value my life so all of your opinions mean shit to me at this point. and luv'n, the exhaust is done, previous owner beat me to it.
