My first mazda rotary rebuild- ?Questions? thread.

So I'm taking on my first rebuild, it's an NA S5 motor.. Going to go into an 88 once I get it re-assembled. This is my first mazda rotary build, I've put together 2 Sachs 303 single rotors, the ones out of the Artic Cat snowmobiles of the 60s/70s.

So I'll post up what questions I have/ encounter along the way, starting with, This: I'm hoping to get some opinions on the use-ability of these housings. One has worse chatter than the other, flaking is VERY minimal, and should all be shown in the pictures.

I'm going to daily drive the car, motor will have no mods other than 6port inserts, & possibly the thermo-pellet delete piece, so as to get an idea of how it will be drivin.

From a quick glance at those I'd say replace them if you can afford to. You've flaking on the sides near the exhaust port (really common) and the chatter marks on one of the housings is pretty bad.

i wouldn't trust those for making great compression, id replace them
