My engine is blowing oil...

Out of the line on the oil filler neck...?

It only happens when I really get on it. This is the second time its happened.

It happend once about a week or two ago, and then I was real easy on the car while I was looking for problems. Everything seemed ok, but I guess its obviosly not...It happened again tonight.

I get on it, I let off, I smell oil. Pop the hood to see the underside of my hood has been shot with oil and pretty much eveything else on the drivers side is covered. Im almost 100% sure its coming from that hose because of the marks on my hood.

Anyways, whats this mean? I have a bad feeling its something to do with bad seals and combustion chamber pressure getting into the crankcase or something... :(

What does your oil pressure gauge read? Perhaps it is too high?

The times it has happened, I havent looked. However, with normal driving it never goes above 70~ psi

Im gonna check it tommorrow.

It might be the oil pressure thing, or it may be blowby from the motor losing compression on the side seals/oil control rings. My car blew a little oil out of the vent on the block, but my oil pressure is 65 at idle, and 105-110 by 2000 rpm. I capped the one on the block off, and just use the vent tube on the oil filler neck. Its fine now, no oil coming out.

At Idle your Oil Pressure should be 20-40 psi, mine Is 25, and above 3000 rpm It should be approx 70 psi, where as mine Is at 75, all the time.

My oil pressure is that high on purpose. I have a TII oil pump, FD rear pressure regulator, front shimmed for ~105 psi, stat gears modded for the type 2 bearings, and modified oil jets.

Adam, never should of let jacob near your car... next think you know its going to catch on fire....

On a serious note, trace all of your oil lines, you may have a small hole in a line that will shoot oil when you get above X psi. Has your car been leaking oil at all, or has your oil lever gone down any prior to your oil ejaculation?

You should have mentioned that than...It's pretty easy to throw someone off with those numbers.;)

Maybe put a small catch can on the filler neck vent line - - problem solved!

theres a nice write-up for a catch can at www.1300cc.com

Well yes you catch the oil, but the problem is still there. Nice try at a patch job though. Car's pushing big boost require catch cans because of blow by, a car with the stock turbo should not have a blow by problem which is what this sounds like. The only car's I've seen with a blow by problem have motors with low compression, motors on there way out, or motors seeing big boost.
