My car doesnt like the O2 sensor
With the O2 sensor hooked up the car jerks and hesitates. W/o the O2, the car runs smooth. Weird right? Another thing i noticed is that the car will hesitate even when it's stone cold w/ the o2 connected, which puzzles me because i thought the O2 didnt even work until it was heated up? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

just get rid of it and run a A/f guage... thats what everyone doesnt anyway lol... the way i see it the only good thing the O2 does it prevents codes from coming up and check engine light on your stock ecu

Have you tested the output voltage to see if the actual sensor is bad? You can use a generic 15 dollar single wire 02 sensor. Matter of fact, I still have an extra one you can have for 10 bucks, never installed. I'm off gorman street in raleigh (not trying to make a sale here, just offering local help)

we dont have to have a 02 sensor in our car? on a 13b n/t 5spd the car will run just fine with it unplugged and not running?
wont it cause our cars to run bad in the cold or to be super lean or super rich? |

I want to be as close to stoich as possible.. so I will be leaving mine in |
Um no, you cannot use a wideband "in place" of your stock O2 sensor.
Your O2 sensor is on a 1 volt range, widebands are on a 5V scale. I'm sure stand alone ECUs can operate with one, I'm not sure... don't know that much about standalone. I'm pretty sure they don't use them at all, along with AFMs... |
