It's probably your "dashpot". Mine did it too. All it takes is a 10mm wrench to adjust. It's behind the manifold (fire-wall side). It looks like a silver-dollar, kind of. Just adjust it so that it doesn't stay in contact for very long. If you've got a Hayne's manual it contains directions for it's adjustment.

Possible TPS needs adjustment?

Just a thought

I agree with the dashpot thing, the asshole who had my car before me removed it, so my car bucked every time, I just learned to release the gas slower.

As far as I know, all FC's are like this. I think it's just the nature of the car.

i have the same problem and even if i let go of the gas slower, it still does it. it seems like theres a certain point on the pedal at which it happens

Test your TPS.

nope its not that cuz i adjusted the dashpot and it was doing fine when i let off the gas but when i step on it again that when it jumps now.

SonicRaT 08-04-04 10:51 PM

Again, check your TPS. :)

I took mine off, and have not driven the car (I stripped the TB and ported it) but have not driven it yet. I hope mine isn't an ass, or the dashpot will be back on :)

Could be the TPS... if its not getting an accurate reading... it won't cut fuel at what should be read as 0% throttle.

SonicRaT 08-04-04 11:04 PM

I don't have any dashpots and I don't have any bucking issues (except under 2krpm in 1st gear, which is to be expected) Generally it's caused by the TPS getting a faulty signal.

Since I'm a lazy bastard, read this:
