Mutating a 2gen N/A into a fire breathing turbo ?
No I'm not crack! At the time I don't have the money to invest
in a 3rd gen, but what are the possibilities of transforming a non - turbo into a turbo with some aftermarket products from greddy and hks... And do pulleys really make a difference on N/A's ? And how does street porting help your 7? Guys I need more mods a turbo powered civic had its way with me..... |

Its easier to just sell your car and buy a turboII, but, if you have already gotten rid of alot of the stupid problems the FC has, mainly electircal, and you enjoy working on your car, you can turbo it, just keep the boost down, or swap a Jspec.. use the search and find out, there are like a million, have phun bro

Turbo II's have lower compression so that that they can run a turbo...if you put a turbo on an N/A (which has higher compression), then you run the risk of having to hoof it to your next destination...or have AAA (Triple A) tow it. But if you keep the boost WAY low, then you MIGHT have a shot at keeping it from blowing for a while.

hey Cake, what are you going to use to keep your detonation down? and are you going to use your stock ECU or what? thanks man, im just pondering what to do with my 88GTU
|
I'm using the stock ECU, TII injectors, and an S-AFC. Probably higher fuel pressure as well. I'll have to see once I have the car together...

Ya man I was running 10psi on my N/A motor for more than a year with only an FMU set to about 13:1 to keep it rich and a SAFC to control when
I wanted the injectors to open up and it worked just fine and pretty fast too. |
