Move windows down with no motor?

Hello. My wife inherited a beloved 1989 RX7 Convertible a few years back, and windows stopped working. Been like that for a few years now and it's time we fixed it. Her previous mechanic removed the motors, and I am trying to remove the scissor mechanism to send them all out for a rebuild.

What I'm not finding information on is how to lower the window without the motors connected? I believe her mechanic set them fully up at one point, so I'm assuming I can lower manually, but am trying not to get ham fisted and just go in and start removing bolts. I have been searching the site but haven't found anyone previously with this situation.

I am hoping someone has the experience with this specific car that I don't, and if so, wouldn't mind sharing.

If it is the switch then you can access the connector on the door by removing the inner door card.
Then since the motor connector is a 2 spade connector you can hit it with 12 volts ..depending on which way you attach the wires to the motor's connector it will either go UP or Down.

I believe he said the motors were removed from the car. No motors to apply voltage to.
I do not have an answer for you, see if something here will help.

I sorta believe it would just fall without motor. To be honest, never worked on the motors in mine. Most cars have the screw on the motor. If the RX7 doesn't then it's most likely a simple slip connector. Could be slot and tab, square socket and shaft, hex socket and shaft, or similar. If the worm screw is on the motor then the mechanic might have jammed the mechanism to hold the window up.
