Mounting the factory wing

Its a pretty straightforward question. I have the stock wing and need a bit of guidance as to how it was held in place. I see a few were bolt-nut but some others are kinda iffy. If someone can host I can put up a pic or email it to them. Thanks.

i think its just bolted on... if thats your question.. no tape or glue or anything.. just i think 4 bolts on the s5 gxl / t2 wing.. not sure on the sport one

Yea, but some of the fittings on the wing are a bit odd. I sent the pictures to SonicRat so I think you guys may see what im talking about.

Wow, looks different than my s5 wing looked! I had two screws near the front tips, that were screwed downwards (covered by a little plastic peice that you had to pop off) then coming down from there were two studs sticking off the bottom, with two plastic round nuts that you put on from inside the rear hatch area, then continueing back two bolts that I believe went upwards into the rear two pedistals (as you have pictured), I believe that's all I had.

maybe you got a second hand stanley rigged wing? or a diif make cuz i just took one of a car in the yard the other day that was just like sonicrat described

the first pic should be a screw..the second pic is a stud that slides with a plasstic top( i think) the far right part with the gold colred screw in the black part has a fitting from the uderside that is palsti and slides

the 4 pic is the stud or bolt(i forget)
the 5 pic is the same as the second

actually i just looked at my wing and your 3 pic is supposed to have a bolt coming out of it that a nut fits on behind the tail lights

and on the first pic about 6 inches toward the back should be another hole where a bolt goes into it

i wish i had a digi cam so i could take pics of my wing it has the mazda logo stamped outward in the middle of the wing you could compare..but i dont..hope this helps

I see, I thought there were bolts which screwed upwards towards the pedestals on the third pic? Guess not?

i only have 2 self tapping screws holding my wing on.

I did have one at first, found one at a junkyard in good condition and used the very front holes (with the little caps) two self tapping screws and that's it (i didnt want to make a bunch of holes...

It hasnt fallen off yet. Holds on real well and doesnt shake or flutter at high speeds (135)
