Motor sounded like it started running on one rotor. HELP.

Ok. This is what happened. I was cruising at around 60 mph. When suddenly A rotor completely stopped working. Non of the chambers ignited. ANd it ran like this for about 5 minutes and all of a sudden the rotor just came back to life and the car ran normal....

The car does have 180,000 miles ont he chassi and im sure the coils are originals.

COuld it be my coils?

Doubt it... Coils wont make one rotor die out. Did the rotor stay out no matter if you accelerated or decelerated?

when i free reved it it was one rotor. But when i was in gear decelerating it sounded normal.

When the car was still running on one rotor i had to give about 60% pedal just to keep it moving and all of a sudden the second rotor kicked in and the car boosted and took off becuase i wasnt ready for it. heh

But as of right now the car is running fine. Could the spark plugs be bad already? I do have a 10 flat afr

Maybe a primary injector wire/plug/connection/??????? Who knows.

J-Rat 04-06-08 02:08 PM

LOL!! Yeah, 10s will eat plugs like a champ!

if it is the spark plugs.. why would one rotor go out only...

ANother possibility. This car has had many electgrical issues. Specially on STarter harness area. Driver side of engine harness Has been fixed. But i do not have the underbelly plastic for the motor and the roads were quite wet.

Plugs. Before my car was tuned, I would go through a set every 2 weeks.
