Question motor rebuild, is porting and 3mm seals worth it???

Im taking my 87 TII in for a rebuild in the morning, porting is $350 and 3mm seals are $250, is it worth it??? I know 3mm seals reduce the risk of blowing a seal greatly but is it really worth it??? How much more power will I see getting it porting it???
Im running on stock injectors, 2.5" turbo back exhaust and FD fuel pump and im gonna get a Rtek 1.5 and have the wastegate ported.
Thanks

Worth it, do it.

An increase of 10-15% is probably a safe bet for porting a T2 with a good exhaust.

i would definitely do it if you have the money, why not do it ? and definitely get the porting even if you dont get the 3mm seals...when rebuilding an engine i think you should take of everything u can...even get a new clutch and flywheel while your at it

if your serious about making power then do it, but if you are light-hearted about the whole power thing dont.

and i dont see any disatvantages of. but go with 720 secondaries and an rtek 1.7 it just makes more sense to have a higher level to go to.

Porting, yes. Along with the supporting mods.

3mm seals, not unless you are going for the big hp or the apex grooves in the rotors are worn past spec. I'd spend this money elsewhere.

The whay I approach these questions are.

A. What are you going to do with the car, Auto-X, Drag, Road race, Drift, etc?
B. What are the smog regulations in your state? Cause lets face it in CA it’s just become a pain in the *** to smog a car with an aggressive port and lots of power.
C. What were you thinking about for power levels?
D. What was your budget with not just the motor but the support system? Remember if you are ported you are going to need to support that extra air with the correct amount of fuel and that takes additional cash people do not always think about.

Im gonna be doing a little bit of everything, auto-x,drag,road race.
I live in the great state of FLORIDA NO EMISSONS!!!YAY
Power wise I was pretty happy with it befor with just the exhaust, but id like more.
BUDGET thats the big question!!! im on a pretty tight budget If I get the engine ported and get 720 secondarys will the stock computer push them safely through the break in period, and then I can get a Rtek 1.7 once the breakin is done???
rebuild-$1500, if I need housings or rotors it will go up.
porting-$350
720's-$200-$250
Port wastegate-$100, I hope havnt asked,I assume it wont be much
and that should do it i hope.
