more boost questions...delima...

well, i've gotten my car back, cool, fixed my electrical problems cool. But I've had a mid pipe on for some time now. I took the air pump of couple months ago, now my precat is clogged. I order a bonez 2.5" downpipe. am I going to be safe with my mods for a while or what should I do for now. Not looking to spend loads of money at this point, but need to get that cat outa there. My real plan is to port the wastegate, but Im not sure how to do it on a 89+..... look at my mods and tell me what you think..

89 GTX
Bonez Intake
Fresh Air Scoop
Air/Fuel Gauge
Boost Gauge
Dual Alternator Pulley
Turbo Timer
Super AFC
Midpipe
HKS SS BOV
Redline fluids.
FCD

If I add the downpipe....am I looking to get fuc#ked? Or is the 89-91's wastegate able to handle it a lot better?

I would really appreciate some info from other 89-91 owners with basically full exhaust/intake. and what they have done.....

edit.
Something more I forgot to add. I know I'll be fine through first and second gear and even third. Generally, the 89+ wastegate works so well, even with exhaust an intake, first and second gear holds about 7psi...around stock level, it spikes up a little at first but never holds higher. I think the real question is going to be in 3rd, 4th and 5th. 3rd gear is not so bad, it usually spikes up to 10psi and sits around 8-9 psi depending on weather. But fourth gear will easilly hold 10 psi until it hits about 6k, and it drops off a little. and if I get into 5th gear, it easily holds 10-11 psi. This I am not concerned about because Im still running way rich @ 10 psi-11 psi. I have my afc about 3-5% accross the board after 4k rpms and have never ever ran lean. I really dont think Ill have a problem running lean. But I do know running past 11psi on the stock turbo is asking for trouble also.

I wish I had the money for a super avc-r and to port my wastegate...... sorry for the long post.

hey, you're prob heard my story before...but when i bought my T2 it already had all the mods on it...2.5 inch downpipe, mid pipe, no cats, and RP 50mm catback. the previous owner also ported the wastegate to cut down the boost. his uncle was a machinist so i guess for him it wasn't too big of a chore. i'll be putting in a boost gauge in a few days so then for sure i'll know what i'm running. i also have an FCD but before i put that i i never hit fuel cut in ANY gear. never reallly did WOT in 4th or 5th though.

so who knows...maybe my small 50mm cat back is choking some of the boost...but maybe not since the midpipe and downpipe are only 2.5 in instead of 3. if i see that my boost isn't too high, i might swap out the N1 turbo catback i have on my n/a and see if that makes a difference on the T2. (2.5 in --->3.4) flared...

where are the new pics of your car! haha
