MOP/OMP Question

If the resistance values on an MOP / OMP (89 TII) read 0 ohm, does the pump not meter oil and just constantly supply tons of it, or does it completly prevent any oil from flowing to the oil injectors?

My car recently started blowing brown smoke and i found the OMP had no resistance on the test connectors.

Thanks-

Anochie

The S5 electric OMP is supposed to send the ecu into limp mode if it isnt functioning properly

I'm going to ask the same question again... And i'm going to look for an answer that doesn't just contain some of the same words as my question.

sorry Rotory :(

Ahem....

Well this might not be exactly what you were looking for either but I will tell you what I know.

Ari Yallon at Rotary Performance told me that the MOP will run at about 25% if unplugged, I know this because I am running a Haltech and had to ask him when I hooked it up. So, I am assuming that 0 resistance would be the same as having it unplugged.

Sorry I don't have a definitive answer.

Thanks, though it helps... I'm just trying to find out if my result is being flooded with oil or if no oil is being injected.
