Modifying S4 wastegate to fit S5 turbo

If I bend the actuator arm and add a spacer like in the pic below would that be a wise way to make it fit? Ignoring step 2 of course.

Only reason I ask is because the S5 actuators are already bent and work fine. Thank you.

Has someone done or tried this?

You could do it (if it's long enough), but you'll have to make sure the motion doesn't cause the actuator arm to bind up. You may also end up raising or lowering the boost pressure that the wastegate is fully open at.

I have modded the S4 actuator before. I thread both side of the rod and put a threaded spacer in the middle. I would do that before trying to weld it back together. Just my opinion. BTW, the S4 wastegate opens at a lower boost pressure than the S5.

They're actually the same 5.5psi spring. It's just that S5 engines have the turbo duty solenoid, which is basically a bleed-type boost controller.
