My car won't start if it sits for 5-20 minutes. It'll start right after I turn it off, and it'll start if I let it sit for a while (maybe 20 minutes, like I said). I've heard that this is from it flooding, but I just changed injectors April 01, and this prob came about earlier this summer, maybe June 02. Seemed way too early for them to be leaking, but I put some injector cleaner through them and it seemed to be ok. Now I just ran injector cleaner, but it did it again and the cleaner isn't stopping it. Also, once it starts, ocasionally I need to crank the starter ALOT (like 15 seconds). I know it's not good for the starter, but I have to get the car started somehow and catching it in a roll is getting embarassing. :D Once I crank for a long time (and only when I crank alot), the tach will die when it starts, and it backfires alot. I swapped in another trailing coil, thinking that was the culprit, but it did the EXACT same thing. Does it sound like injectors? Was I on the right track with the coil? Or... do I need to ghetto rig the "i can't trace my problems, so I'll put a kill switch on my fuel pump" switch? Thanks, and hopefully i don't offend anyone with the pump switch :D

Might be your starter heading south - a slow cranking starter lends itself to flooding problems.

Anyhow, there are a LOT of things that cause flooding, most common is really old, worn motors. Put in a fuel pump switch for the time being - they're nice to have regardless.
