87 gxl 84,000 miles, new red paint, adj suspen, pwr window, borla cat-back exhast, all orginal parts(only major work done is paint )... both rocker panels and quaters were fixed..(??? had rust damage), new front fenders, NO engine mods
sunroof new regular tires new winter tires carcover $3500 it has been garage kept for a long time, covered and all one problem.... it floods when shut off before warmup.... it sat at a dealers for 6 moths the guy got it back, and has maybe driven 3000 miles the oil is VERY GAS SATURATED, i drove it today, it fires up first try and it wants to stall while idle with the A/C on. what possible seals would need replaced????, will i definitly hear it if a bearing is bad????? if the compression check does good, should i buy it? |
That's a really high price for an n/a.. For comparison, I got my 88 GXL with a replaced (used, but recently replaced) engine for 1800$, and I got an 87 SE that was ONLY FLOODED for 245$..
Don't the seller wow you with all the power options--ALL gxl's were all power.. and it seems to me that gxl's were the most common ones for sale these days. Gas in the oil can be a bad thing.... Talk him WAY down, or move on... a lot of really, really good deals come by pretty often.. check out www.autotrader.com Either way, you definitely want to get a compression check before you buy it. -Tesla |
