Microtech and A/C?

Hey,I was just wondering(since I'm broke and can't buy one right now)if you go to the Microtech ECU can you keep your air conditioning or do you have to get rid of it.When I do get the money to go stand alone if I don't have another car to use as my daily driver I would kind of like to keep the air.

no matter what system you get you wont need to use an output for the A/C. First of all, you do have to jump a connection on the only plug left in the car which went to the stock ecu. its very simple and can be done with a singler jumper wire. Check out the A/C write ups in the microtech section. Now your a/c will turn on.

Next is idle up so then engine will not stall with A/C on. I tried playing with Microtech idle up options using the stock BAC and I couldnt get it to work. Instead I wired the stock idle up solenoid which is normally in line with the BAC (behind) to open up as soon as the A/C is on. I wired it to the a/c clutch wire. Now plumb it to a large vacum nipple. Next you should purchase a hose style PCV valve from your local show so as the air can only flow in and not out (boost). Also dont forget a small filter. You can get the parts from Advanced Auto Parts. This setup gives me about 200 rpm rise while A/C is disconnected.

Now you can use your ecu output for something else.

This only works with aftermarket ems's since the stock setup's airflow meter will not meter this "side draft" incomming air.

Thanks.I'll save this post for future reference and go browse the microtech section.
