meter fuse
 

ok so i have a 91 rx7 that has been converted in to 5 speed so weeks ago at the mall the meter fuse blew. i put new one in and it went fine. little bit later it did it again. 4 days ago it happened and i blew 5 fuses now it sits in drive way and wont hold a fuse at all so i looked and noticed that people say its mainly the back up switch well the 2 switches that are on tranny are not hooked up at all but the wires are there. so what do i need to check. i dont know were these wires go. what dose this fuse controll and where are these things? thanks:(

It controls a little of everything - gauges, cruise control, heater and, as you mentioned, back up light. You have a short somewhere - probably a worn through wire that is connecting the chassis ground somewhere. Look at the wires that are "hanging loose" and make sure that they don't have any exposed metal.

there are wires that are exposed and hanging. wires from the auto tranny hook up i should look there.
