Does anyone know how to make a mazda "checker lamp" refrenced in the Mazda Shop Manual ( Part # - 49 F018 001 )

Anyways... hope you figured it out. I just use a voltmeter.

Go to your local Radio Shack and purchase two 12 volt LED's. The color of these is irrelevant. You will see they have a red and black wire. Solder the two red wires together and put a spade terminal on this. Put a spade terminal on each of the two black wires. You have now made a check light. Make certain you purchase 12 volt LED assemblies and not a regular LED. The 12 volt assemblies have an integral resistor to drop the voltage down. A regular LED does not have this resistor and will burn out instantly if connected to 12 volts.

On the check connector you will see a pair of terminals that are parallel. Insert a black wire into each of these. Insert the red wires into the terminal that is crossways to the other two.

Proceed with the check in the routine manner. These LED's do not draw enough current to overload the computer. It is exactly the same design as the factory checker.

I will post a pic of my checker as soon as I can get a pic of it.
