Master Brake Cylinder Upgrade Question
 

Hey guys,

Last fall, I replaced my 4 lug GX setup, to the 5 lug TII setup. Being that the brakes are important (apparently) and that I don't fully trust myself yet, I had it inspected by a local brake shop. I had done everything right, and the brakes work. I did notice however, that I could apply the brakes fully, and I wouldn't come to a stop very fast. By very fast, I mean it stopped better before I swapped in the 4 piston calipers/rotors.

So, I read up a bit, and realized "Duh, I'm still using the GX master cylinder". I bought a brand new TII MBC, and was hoping it would be just a direct swap in. Reading through the FSM, it now looks more complicated than I originally hoped.

So my question is this: Can I simply swap the TII MBC in, reconnect everything, bleed the lines, and be good to go? Or are there many other adjustments that need to be made? Or... is my braking problem something else entirely?

You have to get the t2 w/o abs master cylinder. Also you need the 4 pot brake booster. The single piston caliper is different than the 4 pot.

Ok..the 4 lug brake booster and master Can be used when doing a 5 lug swap(I've done 3..no problem).
If you want to be Politically correct(and SAFER) then I would be looking at swapping the booster and the Master to the Five lug type.(put that because I know Robert will correct me!!../\ haha!)
Now,additional INFO: look into the 929 booster,master..I read a couple years back that it was swappable on an FC.

The brake booster being the large black disk that attaches to the master brake cylinder?

Then I will probably pick it up eventually... Would it be a direct swap in? Or would many things have to be adjusted, in order to have it working properly?
