Marren FPD idea

I was thinking about replacing my FPD (actually my banjo bolt) with the Marren Pro fuel damper. I read through the write-up Cluosborne did, and was hoping he or someone else who has some knowledge of the actual size of the Marren FPD could tell me whether my idea would work.

Rather than going and buying a bunch of AN fitting and making new lines, I could drill and tap a hole in the end of the 12mm 1.25 banjo bolt, thread a 3/8 npt to 3/8 ntp adapter into it, and thereby attach the Marren damper in the same location as the original damper, on the front of the primary fuel rail.

It seems to me there might have been mention of the Marren FPD being rather large though, and I was wondering if anyone knew whether it would fit under the UIM, and not bang into the engine either, of course. Actually, if anyone could reply with the diameter and thickness of the Marren damper, that would be extremely useful!

Thanks!

~2 1/2" in diameter and ~1.75" deep

Thanks Banzaitoyota.

It looks like there will be some insumountable clearance issues with the hard fuel supply line (and possibly the OMP control rod) if I put the marren damper on the front of the primary. But I should be able to do the same thing only on the back of the secondary, like in the write-up. There should be plenty of clearance there, especially if you can fit a 12mm to AN adapter, an AN tee fitting, and a AN to 3/8 npt adapter in there where I'm just leaving the banjo bolt and adding a male-male 3/8 npt adapter.

Well, unless anyone sees any major problems, I'll go ahead and do it this way and let you all know how it goes.

P.S. If anyone can give me another inexpensive idea to fit the Marren on the PRIMARY fuel rail, please speak up.

...run some other fuel line, and modify the OMP rod if needed?
