Mariah Cold Air Box, Before/After
 

Today I found time to do the trimming, etc to install this little jewel. Below find before, during, and after pictures. Key exception, I didn't take a picture of the Air Box before I did my cut and trimming. Just know everywhere you see a hole there wasn't one when you receive yours.

Key install play, get some cardboard and cut a couple templates in the same shape as the Cold Air Box itself. There are trial and error compare-and-mark as well as eyeball-and-mark exercises in massaging to fit your particular set up. If you mess up, all you've messed up is some cardboard rather than a $150 part (fiberglass formed panel).

Picture #1 & 2 is what the Cone Filter area looked like before I started anything.
Picture #3 is what you'll get and need to install one with one exception. That being an adaptor I had made to replace the MAFS when I put in my computer.
Picture #4 & 5 is after cut and trimming has been completed and all installed.

My conclusion from all this. it was a bit intimidating before I started, given the need to pretty much free hand cutting of holes for the FMIC Pipe and Intake Pipe. But taking my time and with the only evidence where I eyeballed/guessed wrong is the cardboard, wasn't so bad afterall.

I'd do it again with out hesitation. It really wasn't that difficult, and the idea of insulating my air intake as much as possible from hot engine air is obviously a good thing.

Forgot to mention. If you get the (their) K&N cone filter set up and running stock otherwise, much easier install as the needed cut outs for the filter and Air Pump hose is marked out. That install would look just like what you see on their web site.

Also curious, is that the Attain vented cover?

It's an RE-Amemiya vented replacement for the stock TII scoop. Hard to find.

I wish there was more room to bring the air filter in front of the radiator support, but I just cant see a good clear run unless you did not have the stock headlights

Correction. I thought you were talking about the reverse vent on my hood which I just realized wasn't pictured. :scratch:

I don't know who made the headlight covers. I bought them from another forum member (ALL IN<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_8755675", true); </SCRIPT> ). Only needed minor tweaks to get them to fit right, and I like the size of the opening as well as the fact it's raised which would seem to capture more moving air than a recessed one.

did have to drill any holes to screw it in? or did it fit where others were located?

The mounting brackets that come with it make it a direct bolt in into existing body nuts. The only drilling/cutting is to deal with the intake pipe, smog pump pipe, and if applicable FMIC pipe.
