Map sensor question

1 Attachment(s)
Am i right in thinking this is the Map sensor and FCD?
So shouldn't the vacum pipe be connected to something after the turbo, and not just hang there blocked off?
Attachment 723084

should connect to the lower intake manifold to the ACV port that faces out the passenger side of the car.

without it your injector staging will be abnormal and timing off under load(will be anyways due to the FCD but at least it will advance somewhat).

i don't recall the N327 pressure sensor being correct anyways, N318/332 is the S4 turbo engine code and N370 is the S5 turbo engine code.

N327 is a non turbo sensor and Will read wrong from idle on up. With no vacuum hose it will read what a stk non turbo sensor would read when you floor a non turbo car all the way when driving i.e. 3.5 to 4.0 vdc to the ECU.

A turbo sensor with no vac line to it will output 2.3 to 2.7vdc to the ECU.

Anyway.......................on a turbo car when the boost sensor outputs 3.65 vdc to the ECU it cuts fuel to the rear rotor. That's what a FCD does in life. It stops the signal to the ECU from ever seeing that figure. It reads as a normal sensor til you get up to the 3.65 and never lets the ECU see over that figure so fuel will not be cut when in boost.

I may have muddled that. When you boost to somewhere around 8 psi or so the sensor outputs 3.65 vdc which causes the ECU to cut fuel to the rear rotor. The FCD prevents this from happening.

But the sensor in your car is a non turbo sensor and is going to read WRONG from idle on up. Rid yourself of it and get a Turbo sensor.

Thanks :)

Does it matter if i get N318 or N332?

Series four USA TURBO II cars use a N318 even thought the ECU itself is a N332. Frankly I don't think there is a N332 boost sensor.

Like I say, N318 for USA. For Europe????? probably the same but I don't KNOW that to be a fact.

This thread made me think a little but about how people who have trouble with the ECU numbered N340.

The N340 on some swaps will only fire one rotor for unknown reasons. So I wonder if the reason the thing runs on only one rotor has to do with the signal from the boost sensor causing the ECU to do that. Just thinking outloud. Maybe those who can't get it to run on both rotors have the wrong boost/pressure sensor in their car for that N340 ECU.

You would look for an N318 boost sensor.
The N327 and N326 are Non-Turbo.
and I haven't heard of a N332 boost sensor either..the ECU's are N332 and N333(both good for S4 TII)

Ok, i must have misunderstood what they meant in another thread.
Going to get myself a N318, and connect it to the UIM where i now take out the signal for my boost gauge.

I meant to ask, What ECU is yours? The N number like N332.
