Major viborations

I have no idea what it could be.
I was told it's the driveshaft..
I really dont think it is.
I'll drive get out of 2nd and it will viborate in 3rd 4th will get worse and 5th is just as bad.
Only when the car is accelerating will it viborate.
But slowing down from 5th it will not stop untill about 35mph

My unkel said
The engine could be externaly balince and somthing might bee messed up or offset.

It's your drive shaft. Mine vibrated like that also.

clokker 12-18-07 08:13 AM

If it's the driveshaft- which it very well could be- you'll also need to check the engine/tranny/diff mounts as well.
All that vibration can prematurely wear those bushings too.

did this suddenly start happening or did you just get car and this is the way you got it? motor tranny mounts check as well

mazdaverx713b 12-18-07 10:47 AM

i would look into the u-joints as being the culprit.

1SWEET7 12-18-07 11:23 AM

Like a few have said it is most likely the U-Joints on the driveshaft. The same thing happened to me a few months ago. Mazda for some reason though made our driveshafts with non-replaceable U-Joints, so if it is you will need a new driveshaft.

ASim1579 12-18-07 11:24 AM

Yea, I'd suggest looking at the u-joints, because that's what happened to mine. I would look at the other things mentioned to just to be sure. I know when this happened to me, it was the u-joint. If I could remember how to post pics I'd show you how bad mine got.

before you do ANYTHING else, i would suggest going back to school and punching your english teacher in the face.....

damn what the hell are they doing in schools in arkansas.

it is most likely your driveshaft. Your going to probally buy one new from mazdatrix. theirs come with replaceable u-joints. But you want to check your front diff mount also.

LSD-Ryu 12-18-07 01:24 PM

Definitely ur u-joints on ur driveshaft.

Mine vibrated like crazy, I blamed it on a bent rim, but it started getting really bad. Then one day, I accelerate out of a green light (slowly) and BAM, a lot of grinding, car stops moving, and driveshaft is resting on my exhaust.

easy fix though. Jack it up, unbolt the joints from the front mount, pop in the new driveshaft, bolt it up, and go.

though if ur u-join does go, look into getting ur front mount replaced, because that's almost certain to start banging pretty bad.

My all-time favorite "umm". I have met people who use it regularly as well as type it. It's not a word, people! My 1st grade english teacher would rise from her grave, hunt me down and shoot me at point-blank range for saying "umm".

We could start a grammar thread war, so in the interest of staying on-topic, I'll quit my rambling.:D

U-joints, driveshaft, tires, motor....... is it speed or RPM dependant?

boostedfc3s 12-18-07 03:49 PM

the is a place that sells replacement u-joints for our cars now. I saw a thread about it on here about a year ago, use the search and you'll probably find it.
