Main fuse missing..car still runs?
 

Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a Turbo II FC, and the seller emailed me two videos of the car running. However, something caught my attention. In the video, the fusebox near the drivers side strut seems to be missing the 80A main fuse, however the car is clearly running. Anyone have any idea how this is even possible?

the fuse block is not all FULL with fuses(contains an empty fuse location),so maybe you are mistakenly thinking that the Main is gone?(just guessing)

It would be easy to jumper the fuse block to get it to run if the fuse was not in there.

I'm positive its not there. I looked up the fuse guide on Icemarks "frequent asked questions" thread, there are three fuse slots occupied, two empty ones, and then two full ones. One is supposed to be empty according to the guide, and the 80A main one is supposed to be next to it, and is not there.


Why would someone jumper the 80A fuse slot?

The fuse housing could be broken and it looks like there is nothing there. It is black plastic just like the holder.
As for why: at some point someone probably tried to pull it not knowing it bolts in. They try to pull it with some pliers and it shatters the housing. It still works, so they leave it. I see them this way at the junkyard when all the other fuses are magically gone.

the 80 or 100 amp fuse is the only fuse that can't be removed unless you use a 10mm to get it out.It's sort of a "safety feature" so the car doesn't shut down.
Look again at the Fuse block,follow the main wire from the harness.It attaches to the side of the Fuse block and gets feed by a single positive wire (black color).If that fuse directly in front of that 10mm nut is gone then you have a problem.
The LID of that Fuse block is also shown in the same FAQ too,so you may want establish what the fuses are by that Lid.
Right now you are saying "one is missing" but who knows which one.
I can think of 5 fuses off the top of my head.
