M/transmission Fluid?
I know to use Redline MT-90 do to reading all the info on here after I SEARCHED...
my question is is there a brand that I can pick up around town that I can use for a few days until I can order some offline!! Or does anyone know of a place that carries it... I am doing a auto to manual swap and i need some M/T fluid to get me on the road!! by the way I'm in New Orleans if you know of a place here that would carry it!! thanks |
ANY 80w/90 gear oil will work...the manual reccomends it. Redline MT-90 is a synthetic which makes it "desirable". Schucks carries 80/90,not sure which brand, but it works!

how about redline 75w90ns?i have a quart i bought planning on changing it i now i will need more but, will i need to buy the 80w-90?
|
umm.. i dont think rotary trannies are different from other trannies, eh? so.. i have never heard about using anything else other than 80w90 "Gear" oil before.. thats what we always use in our work trucks (tractor-trailers) and on our smaller pickups..
|
What do you mean black13B...if you refering to using the Redline MT-90..its a synthetic gear oil.
|
oh no sorry i didnt mean to say you couldnt use it.. lol.. just a small world up in the shop for our trucks.. never heard of synthetic gear oil, thats all i meant..
just backing you up as you said earlier that 80w90 will work: i dont think transmissions are different at all between pistons and rotaries in that sense (if they ARE different, i must be outta my league when it comes the rotaries) so 80w90 should be just fine.. |
I don't know what can be picked up In your area but If you are considering using Redline MT 90, have you considered using their new Redline Shockproof? Phenominal stuff.
