Lube it or loose it
 

Okay guys here is the situation. Whenever i'm accelerating or rolling at low speeds I hear this delightfull squeeking sound. I was wondering if you could tell me where to lube this baby up before anything gets damaged. I'm planning to replace the rear diffrencial and the transmission fluids with 80w-90w gear oil and i'm just wondering where are the points on the front/anywhere else. Also, am I going to need a greese gun? Oh and this may help out, i've got a 1987 GXL.

i for one say screw it... i mean loose it, :( i just suck today

I'd double check to make sure your brakes aren't dragging first. Maybe have a friend stand outside the car as you drive past & pinpoint exactly where the sound is coming from?

Yeah its not the brakes, me and my friend did them and they were quiet and beautiful. Then just recently it started making these nosies and I was pissed that I no longer had a smooth non-squeeky car. Yeah i'll pinpoint the location with a friend tomorrow. Still nobody knows any rolling lube points besides the rear axel and tranny? I heard some mechanic mumbling on about how some jap cars dont' have lube in the front? (hell is wrong with him?)

Well, when's the last time you've inspected and repacked the front bearings? Every now & then we also have problems with the rear bearings, which definetly seems related to the excessive abuse some of us put on 'em. Then you have your alternator & air pump bearings, and your A/C & power steering pump pulley bearings...Not to mention all of the suspension components that can "squeak" at certain points...

When we did the brakes we repacked all of the berrings so it can't be that. Must me some other place. As earlier stated it only makes noise when moving at low speeds, like under five miles per hour. Also it does it on FLAT surfaces so I keep having this suspicion of its the axels or somthing.
