LSD Options

Just got through searching but I didn't come up with much...

I wanna know what all of my options are including some prices maybe on changing my 87 Base N/A rear diff to a damn good limited slip. Here's what I have gathered so far:

- Changing out diff to TII
What all is needed and not needed for this swap? Just diff and halfshafts to
make it work with my stock rear or do I need other parts?

- I read something about taking it apart and transplanting the torsen lsd from
the miata? Details on that?

- Aftermarket limited slip like Cusco or Kazz. Drop in replacement in my n/a or not?

- Now it's your turn to give me more options/details. Thanks in
advance! :bigthumb:

I am kind of asking the same question in another thread. How much power are you planning on making as I see from your sig are you doing a V8 conversion also?

To swap in the rear diff you need the differential and the halfshafts, and it'll bolt right in. Now... if you're planning on using a non-turbo tranny, you will need a custom driveshaft with a N/a yolk and a TII rear flange.

If you're doing a v8 swap, you'll need a custom driveshaft anyway.

My main goal is for drag racing only. This is just a weekend toy. It won't be a daily driven car. It won't even be a car I go drive on the weekends on the street (for now). I'm looking at building a moderate horsepower small block chevy to go run at the track with my buddies who have 10 sec Monte Carlo & Nova. No I don't have the money for a major upgrade like the big boys putting 9" rears back there but I need something pretty stout to hold up to plenty of abuse from over 350+ hp/tq running full slicks and spraying nitrous. I have the car almost ready for the motor to be dropped in. I'm dropping the stock gas tank and rear diff today and going with a 10 gallon fuel cell and relocating the battery to the spare tire well. So this is probably my next project... setting up the rear end. I'm not worried about the front so much as the rear. I'll run the stock 4 luggers up front for now.
