LSD from MIATA to an 88 RX7 vert

I have a torsen LSD from a miata and it wouldn't fit the pumpkin on my 88 RX7 convertible. Would the LSD fit a hardtop RX7 pumkin and would that pumpkin fit my 88 convertible?

only 2 rear ends in 2nd gens.

Turbo or Non-Turbo

The carrier from a Miata 94-05 will fit in a Non-Turbo 3rd member.
You have to use the 3rd member housing from your rx-7 allong with your ring and pinion.

Thus you must transplant the ring gear from the rx-7 carrier onto the miata carrier then reinstall the new assembly into the rx-7 3rd member.

I would not do this without checking and setting pinion depth and backlash. To do this you may have to pull the pinion from the 3rd member housing and thus need a new pinion seal.

Since you have it all apart it is a good idea to replace carrier bearings and pinion bearings.

You cannot:
-Bolt a miata 3rd member into a FC axle housing housing of any kind.

Isn't there a writeup on how to do this somewhere on here? I think I remember seeing it awhile back. I'm too lazy to search for it but it may be in the archives.
