I used Delphi d514a coils on my rx8. I think it's an ls1 coil. $15 a coil and works great.
|
Well theres a bunch that look the same but im not sure which is which.
I need the ls1 coil. Some one help I need to know that it is the ls1 coil and a part number. I was told there around 40 bucks a coil .. |
A quick google search and this popped up.
http://thmotorsports.com/haltech/hal.../i-519671.aspx Are you by chance installing a Haltech? |
You should actually look at these.
Mercury Marine IGN-1A Smart Coil Side note: I went to check spark(blew engine recently) and accidentally lifted the wire up and "WAAAAAAAAHHHHH"..lol.!. they work real GOOD! |
the cheap ones like the d577 do not have a built-in ignitor, so you would have to run an external ignitor. the one agreen linked to do have built-in ignitor, so more pricey. i would recommend sticking to the factory coils, they are optimum for rotary chamber, i would only upgrade if having misfire problems due to a lot of boost or use of anti-det injection
if you really must run aftermarket, go with IGN-1A coils. whatever you do, do not use LS2 truck style (D858), worst of the LS bunch |
Yes I agree the stocks great but we're having issues with spark on the trailing coils. Using the haltec ps1000.
|
I am running the PS1000 also, and the IGN-1A's...and my ignition is great now.
I had the old CAS,stock leading coil and dual (FC Banzai) Trailing setup. It just didn't cut it. NOTE:IF you change to the IGN setup from stock, when changing settings, make sure your coils are Disconnected. Do not change the setup, turn the ecu on and then start configuring. The L2 coil will fry if you do not have the coils disconnected....trust me..brand new coil..with GOOO coming out of it..ah Fark.. |
