Low idle?!?!
I am a little stumped... I have a '91 coupe. The car has had a low idle since I bought it. It would go up to 3000 rpm then quickly drop to 1000 or 750 rpm, then as the car get warmer would drop down to 500-200 rpm. Most of the time, the idle goes to around 800-600 when I turn the A/C on. Keep in mind, this is with the idle adjust screw pretty much set as high as it can go, to keep it from stalling. Pressing the brakes would drop the idle about 100 rpms.
So, I tested the BAC valve and it read 0.00 k Ohms. Ok, so I need to get a new one. So, I just got a used one today from a '91 N/A like mine with around 64,000 miles on it. The seller claimed that he tested it and it worked fine. I tested that one too and it read 0.00 k Ohms too. So, I'm believing the seller and thinking that my voltimeter thing isn't sensitive enough, or something. So, after cutting an inner tube to make a gasket for the BAC, I put it on... I get pretty much the same sympoms.
Ok... now what? I'm starting to think about just removing all of this idle/emissions crap. But, I don't think I want to lose the luxury of having A/C and power steering. Mods in sig.
