Low compression but Apex still there?

B4 i pulled out my old motor, i compression checked it, got two low and one high bounce. Wen i pulled tha motor out, looked through plug holes, still saw all three apex seals? So, wats up? oh, and tha care wouldnt start either, no matter how hard i tried.

thanks, ut

how many miles on the engine? Obviously something isn't sealing, or you wouldn't get low compression. It's either the seals, whatever holds the seals tight to the rotor and housing, or the housing.

You've got a problem if you've got low compression.. Even if the seals ar ethere and look intact, they may not be sealing correctly.

Apex seals can crack or break on one end and you not be able to see it through the ports. Once it is apart you will find some damage, or something stuck. IT is possible an apex, or other seal, has stuck in the in position from sitting/carbonlock and will not spring back out to resume making compression.

It could have been cracked and you just didn't see it. Or it could have been a cracked corner seal. Not always the apex seals that go out

if the seal is stuck from carbon buildup, try atf-ing it.
