I'd just like to say...i'm the man.. in the last 2 weeks i've been able to.Replace rear bearings, rear caliper cradles, install a tokico and eibach suspension, cross drilled and slotted rotors, a steel braided clutch line, toe eliminator bushings and a ground wire kit... all in 2 or 3 weeks!

how hard is it to install the DTSS (toe thing) eliminators?

the eliminator bushings are easy..take the shit off give it to a dude with a press and voila!

what kind of results did you see from the grounding kit?

I love the grounding kit. after reading about it in turbo and SCC they said it gave a 3rd gen an 18 hp increase. it definitely boosted my HP by 3 or 4 and it makes every other system work better. my throttle response is better, my gas mileage and not to mention that my subwoofers pund now!

Where did you get the ground kit? And what places does it ground? I'm redoing some grounds on mine but if a grounding kit is better I'll go with that and use this for temporary? (using 8 gauge stinger wire I think, maybe 6)

you can buy a whole bunch of wire (should be 8 gauge or less) from home depot, along with connectors for really cheap. to redo your grounds it'd cost about $20-30 depending on how much wire and the connectors you buy. check this thread out:

thanks for the compliment 3isacharm. To everyone whos saying to just get some wire, I agree. I happened to get this kit for 50 bucks! the wire alone could cost that much. the kit came with about 10 ft of wire and some cool anodized distribution blocks as well as a new terminal. It was a no brainer...get the kit.

It was a no brainer...get the kit. new battery clamps and copper at that "which im sure the ones in the kit are cheap metal with bling bling cold plating" $1.50 Ditribution block $5.00 total $16.50 compairison, the kits I have seen floating around on ebay feature "blingy gold battery clamp see statement above", some wack 8awg maybe even 16awg with some fat surround, and a $5.00 distro block. Its just not worth it, they make those kits for the same people that buy the car audio amp install kit for double what the products inside really cost. p.s. I am mecp certed and Mike P in the 1st gen section has his masters and I am sure he will back me up. just tryin to help save some $ and get better stuff. |
The last distribution block I bought that was worth a shit was $20.

i agree theres a cheaper way to do it that nets you the same results. However in my case my time is more important than my money. the ability to just get all the stuff in one place ready to go makes it worth it for me. Ive seen these kits on ebay for 35.00, its worth it to spend 20.00 more and save time
