loss of power?

my car got power for like a day, then i put the key in the ignition during the middle of the day around 8ish pm and try to turn the key, power just disappears, i take out he battery cables and rehook them, i get power again, when i try to start hte car, power disappears, jumping the car i sometimes loose power also, it works when i push start it tho, what could it be? starter? alt? ecu? a short somewhere? when i turn off the car once i get it working, i try to start it again, the same thing happens, the power just disappoears, no power anywhere.

when i loose power i disconnect the terminals and put it back in, i get power again, but as soon as i try to start the car, it disappears. if it is a short, im going to disconnect all power to the audio stuff that came with the car and see if that helps.

Did you ever get this problem solved?

By your comment of removing and connecting the battery connector’s gives temporary fix, it really sounds like a simple case of your battery posts need cleaning. Alternatively, the connection to the battery side of the main (80 amp) fuse may be faulty explaining why moving the wires around gives temporary fix.

If the symptom is that you get absolutely no power when you turn the key (i.e. your idiot lights don't even come on), try running a jumper wire between the firewall side of the main fuse to the connector for your ignition switch wire harness. I've had two of my 2nd Gen's developed intermittent connection between the main fuse and ignition switch where this jumper wire solved the problem.
