loose shifter question

well i just bought my 4th rx7 last saturday and this one is a 91 S5. well when i got in the car i notice that the shifter is really loose and i thought was the shifter bushings. well i took the shifter off and i found that it was not the shifter bushings, it looks like the shifter is a 2 piece and it seens that is rubber in the middle. anyways i really dont have the money to buy a different shifter at this moment and i was wondering if someone had this problem in the past and how they fixed it. i was thinking about filling both pieces with JB weld but if someone have a better idea let me know. thanks

Get a stock shifter, I am sure you can find one for shipping + $5.

Also check all the bushings, the S5 has one extra bushing over the S4.

both of them should use 2 bushings, regardless of what the FSM or parts manual sais.

Doesn't the S5 have one bushing in the shifter itself? I have read that that can also cause a shitty shifter feel.

this is what im trying to explain. my shifter is like a two piece shifter not a hole piece like S4 and older and is really loose
