looking for intake options ???

i am looking for an intake upgrade for my 87 TII. i am just wondering what you guys have used and experienced. i am aware of suck companies like hks and apexi but im looking for opinions. thanks.

Actually Apexi's filter is good quality stuff, but the HKS one does suck donkey balls at filtering. Another good one is the K&N and Bonez filter. They both use the same style filters, you even use the K&N recharge kit on the Bonez, but the bonez is cheaper. On the s4 NA's (not sure on turbos) you have to do some creative engineering to get the afm to sit the right way, since it tells you to relocate it. Its not too hard, there is a writeup on aaroncake.net on how to do it.

If you have an autozone store near you, check out their Spectre filter, it flows better than a K&N, and filters just as well. A local guy dyno'd his truck (twin turbo 1000hp '03 Silverado) with and without the filters and noticed only ~2hp difference.

I think hes talking about an intake kit, not a drop in. Drop ins are useless for power, especially on 7's. I get K&N's in my other cars just because they last so much longer.

Spectre makes AFM adapters also IIRC. Its a cone filter too, they don't make dropins.

yea i was looking for more of a kit but i didnt know that afm was so sensitive. maybe ill look into the apexi filter but like i said i am looking for more of a kit then a drop in filiter.

There isnt a decent kit for the 7. Your best bet is to get some 3" piping and route your own. But dont just put the filter anywhere, you dont want to be sucking in a bunch of hot engine bay air.

yeh....if i remember corectly there is a CAI kit for a prelude on ebay that u can retrofit onto our FCs...just replace the rice filter with a K&N or bonez filter
