looking for affordable cold air/short ram intake

I performed a search but couldn't find any topics and everywhere I look online is asking for more than I want to pay.

I know there are smart people that hang out here who know where to get hooked up and how to take short cuts. I'm not very auto tech saavy but I'm getting there....Any help? Old link? I drive an s5 non turbo.

If I did miss a link or an old topic about this then I'm sorry....I know its irritating to see the same topics over and over.

Do they even improve efficiency? The engine bay seems pretty hot and after market air filters seem like they will suck in the hot air... Unless you design some sort of box to block off the hot air from the engine itself.

I typed in short ram/intake/ cold air intake/cold-air intake/....all of which said No search results found.

Why would you want an intake for it? The intake tube is the same size if not bigger than a actually intake system. Just get a good filter like K&N,Greddy,HKS and call it a day. Wont get any better than that.

read up i posted a good link,
and Griff is some what right.

Stock Intake is best intake for a n/a.
Might even result in power loss if you put a aftermarket one in.

The search feature must have not been working then, as there are literally hundreds if not thousands of threads about this. To make your own you can fab up a box around a cone filter that has a fresh air source, or modify the prelude CAI kit form ebay.

I've seen few hundred threads I think they said use the 99prelude CAI kit for 25$ on ebay and cut it in the middle place the AFM in there and run it out the car.

You my friend did not search very hard.

I posted that picture 100 times.

I don't know if there is a difference, but I always promoted and bought the 92-96 intakes.
