Hehe... I remember when I got my RX-7 Haynes manual. Poor book has been through so much... it bears the stains of bearing grease, engine oil, antifreeze, break dust, and god knows what else. Good book for quick reference. :)

scrapp 03-16-04 04:33 PM

one of the sections has to do with exsessive fuel consumption, hahah. i know what its talking about, but its just funny to hear when talking about rx7s.

slomo85 03-16-04 04:35 PM

ha, the same one I bought, when I bought my car. approx 1.5 months ago. Loads of info, have fun knowing how to do all that stuff yourself...later:)

Josepi 03-16-04 05:14 PM

That's a good start, just wait till your using the FSM.

;)

jreynish 03-16-04 05:16 PM

FSM is 1000% better! And specific to the series of car!

casio 03-16-04 05:21 PM

and the Mitchell. i love that thing.

scrapp 03-16-04 05:21 PM

yea, getting a FSM would be badass, but right after the FSM comes haynes, so this will defintally hold me over for now. how much can you pick up a FSM for?

Free, you can download it. Printing it out is handy, but it's a few hundred duplex pages (my pet project between busy times at work is printing the whole thing out).

ohh...is that the only way? cause i do have the website that has all of the FSM, and priting would be my only option, minus finding a laptop, and saving it all onto there

casio 03-16-04 05:24 PM

they're around $100 everytime i've seen em. dont remember the exact price, but in the ballpark ($100-115).

you could get a tablet pc and use it while under the car, thats what I do.

Rotory 03-16-04 05:55 PM

i started out with the FSM...i dont recommend it for beginners

PureSephiroth 03-16-04 07:42 PM

I've read that Haynes manual front to back a couple of times now ;)

BLKTOPTRVL 03-16-04 08:35 PM

You should keep two copies...

One for use in the garage - with grease stains.

One in your library for reading with clean hands before going to the garage.

I just wish there was one for the FD.

gildardo 03-17-04 01:05 AM

The chilton manuals suck, don't buy them.

scrapp 03-17-04 01:15 AM

chilton, that was the one that i was thinking of thats so horrible. its like, rx7, miata, mx6, and a bunch of other cars thrown into 1 book. no thanks.
