Logicon Illumination Circuit board bulb
I Finally got tired of having a bunch of burned out bulbs, The Car has No Soul if half of the lighting is burned out, And i want my car to feel Alive,
SO, After searching for these everywere the only place you can get them is at the dealer. But they wanted 8 bucks per bulb. Yes. thats 8 Bucks.Plus they would have to (ORDER) them. hell nah. So i got some bulbs for 4 bucks and did my own wiring. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/IMG_0002.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/IMG_0009.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/IMG_0005.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/IMG_0004.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/IMG_0011.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/IMG_0012.jpg 4 bucks. There were a few other routes i could have taken. This is the one i felt like doing.. Its an option. |
Hell ya. I actually used ones out of the wiper switch (have a few laying around), just pulled the bulb out of the wiper switch socket, straightened the legs, & put it into the socket that fits the logicon.
If you re-solder where the LED's are soldered to the board, the ones which indicate what mode/recirculate/AC is on, they'll all come alive too :) Glad to see I'm not the only one obsessing over the little things! |

I picked up a bag of these for something like $0.15 apiece a year or two ago when I started rebuilding wiper switches, logicons, and the like. I can't remember the site now, for the life of me, though.

I never found the logicon bulb cheaply, but the other bulbs (wiper, cruise control and headlight switches) were avalable from multiple sources for $0.15. Went ahead and paid Mazda around $5 for the logicon bulbs. I actually sold off the rest of my bag of 100 to various people on the forum for cost of the cheap bulbs.

i just use standard replacement bulbs and redo the contacts into the original sockets. either crimp or a dab of solder.
