Location of Fuel Injectors
Where the fuel injectors located in a 13B ,87 S4 NA. This thread is for my mechanic. There are the two on top that you can see ( are these the primaries or secondaries?) Then where are the other 2?
|
On a serious note if your mechanic doesnt know where the other 2 injectors are i would HIGHLY recommend he not touch your car... and with 984 post i would suspect you would to??
On a side note.. there located on the intermediate housing upper and mid? manifold would need to be removed.. TwEaK |
The injectors that you can see are the secondary injectors(located on the lower manifold).
The other two(primaries) are on the KEG itself,on the housings(one on each Rotor housing) If you take the 4-12mm nuts and one long bolt of that separate the Middle manifold from the Lower manifold, you can get to both sets,easily..Remember to use another new gasket or RTV when you put it back together. |

Agreed.
Learn to work on your car yourself or find a ROTARY mechanic. Dont even mess with taking your car to your basic service shop or even the dealership (stealership). |

I believe Mechanics are rip off artists. Not all, but I'd say most are. "Your muffler bearings are bad, so we need to replace your injectits and fuel metering unit. shoot, I can't find them injectits..." Good luck! |
hahaha these replies are great. Let me rephrase my description. This mechanic has been good compared to the other mechanics in the area. Because the first one I tried had my car for over a month and never looked at it... but promised to. Then the 2nd guy replaced my gas tank but broke my cars filler neck... So the current guy has replaced things before with no problems but definitely is intimidated by it being a rotary. I do not have time to work on it myself. I work 3 jobs and go to school full time and have a fiance to take care of.

Well, if you need any surgery then I will give you a good deal. I charge much less than a real doctor, and I am not nearly as incompetent as some of those other fake doctors. I don't really know the body parts all that well, but if you ask the internet forums for help in letting me know where the body part is located, I am pretty sure I can remove whatever is ailing you. I will make it quick since you are so busy with school, working, giving your money away to idiots, and all.

Seriously, just as the others have said, if your mechanic is intimidated by your car and is still charging you (or charging you full price) I would go to another.

Do you have any idea how long you've been driving on low headlight fluid? Woah, You have NO headlight fluid! EMPTY!
That's dangerous! And yeah, find someone who can tweak on a rotary engine. I hate to be kinda stereotypical but you live in the south, right? Most people down here have no fucking clue what they are looking at when you pop your hood. "where the fuck is the valve cover?" Stuff like that..... Evil aviator, i would hope anyone who can work on a rotary engine knows how to do more basic maintanence stuff to a rotary than play with their eccentric shafts and lubricate then seal the deal with hylomar..... I'd have to question the logistics of knowing all that but not knowing where the fuel injectors are. |
Okay so I called him and told him I had an exploded diagram of the motor.(from the FSM) Showing EXACTLY where the primaries are located.. he said I don't care what kind of pictures you have im telling you there are not any more injectors on that car... LOL. So I said I would just come pick it up and then I asked him what I owed for replacing the Secondaries and he said nothing.. So
It didn't turn out too bad.. He didn't do what I asked but he did not charge either.. I guess I'll have to replace them myself whenever I have the time... btw Evil Aviator, I'll take you up on that offer when I need surgery haha |
