little help with a turbo project
hey guys this isnt another turbo my n/a thread. I know what i wanna do and im in the process of doing it but I have 2 uncovered questions I cant find the answer to.
Nowhere in any turbo/na thread ive seen have I seen mention fo what happens to the afm. Also when using the tii manifolds ported, what happens to the tps? ALso does anyone have the link to the big thread about using the TII manifolds? I cant find it anymore |

If you are using the turbo ECU then you swap on the AFM from the TII. Otherwise it stays the same. TPS is the same accross all models.
Port them to match using an NA gasket, then bolt them on. Not much more really. I also ahve a new question that i dont feel deserves a new thread. If I didnt want to use a tii front cover or drill my current one would i be able to draw oil from the stock oil pressure sensor location. You see im having a local plumbing shop create an extention to space my aftermaket sensor outward so it clears the engine(sinc eit doesnt fit now) and i was wondeirng if i could just have a nipple installed on the extention. I know the area gets plenty of pressure. |

AFM usually goes between the filter and turbo. Some place it in the intercooler pipe, but since it has temperature sensors and is not really rated for pressure.
Tapping oil from the stock sender location is fine. |

the t2 front cover only has a port for the oil RETURN. so please don't use any kind of front cover for an oil SUPPLY. i used an oil pedistal as my turbo supply.

i to wanna do this since i dont really have any knowledge of taking off the cover to tap it. but it looks like such a bitch to get the oil pan off.

1. drain oil...duh... 2. unbolt engine mounts 3. jack up motor untill you can reach the front oil pan bolts. 4. remove bolts and pry off oil pan. the only thing that will suck is the cleanup and installing a new gasket (use RTV, it works great). |
just rtv or both?

i usually just use rtv with no gasket. i've never had any problems. even with a baffle plate installed.
