line lock

just curious if anyone on the forum has tried or installed a line lock on their fc...i know its more of a drag racing thing but i think it would be pretty cool on our cars too

ABS or no ABS?

If you got ABS, it makes it easy.

If you don't got ABS, it's a royal pain in the ass.
With no ABS, the brake master cylinder has FR and FL channels, so you either gotta Y them into a single line lock solenoid or run two - one for each front brake channel.

What's a line lock?

Jarome 06-07-06 10:57 PM

locking the front rotors while having the rear free....basically a tool for massive burnouts

sweet.

line lock in an FC would be nice, but as Ted stated it would be a PITA to setup.

Yeap.....I have a line lock on my FC!

Isn't that cheating?

Cheating?

To do a burnout with an FR, you have to hold the brake down hard enough to keep the front from rolling. But, obviously, with the brake pressed, you are applying the brakes on the rear also. With the wheels spinning, your basically chewing up the rear brakes and rotors unneccesarily.

It also prevents stupid people from letting off the brake and rocketing into a wheel or car, while doing a burnout.

It's safety, and it saves brake parts. :)

did you buy a kit or just do it all yourself with your own components?
