LIM stud question Help
these studs are stripped and i dont have a tap so i was wondering if they are removeable?

yes. lock some vice grips onto them and use a screw driver between the end of the vice grips for leverage. lefty loosy

Be sure to replace them with new studs. I had one missing for the coolant feed line, and used a bolt in its place. It started leaking the first time I ran the engine. I ended up stealing a stud from an extra LIM to take its place.

Happened to me and it drove me nuts cause everytime i'd fill it up it would piss out of that thing. |
the block off plates i bought came with new hardware and didn't use those studs. i took them out and have been using set screws with no issue.

No, the flange is not warped. I suppose if you used some long screws they'd have enough grip, but the short ones I had wouldn't do the job. Swapped to a stud & nut, and voila...no more leak.

quik-center: I've used it on fused (rusted) and broken off bolts. Work like a champ. Should work even better on studs. |
