LIM replacement surgery just went critical.....little help please.

Well like it says i'm replacing my old LIM with my new LIM on my 89 GTU. So i'm chuggin along with the process when i get to the MOP injectors and lines. Well I am trying to do the softest removal of the injectors when I crack and break a line. :( My question is can I use rubber line for a temporary solution? Or are the pressures from the MOP too high to use that? Otherwise i'm probably going with pre-mix again.

Also can I block off just one injector from the pump and run pre-mix for the missing secondary? Or will the pump blow up?

Me, I'd just go premix :)

All the way...

There's very little pressure in the lines. Use lawnmower fuel line. It's cheap and easily sourced.

Wayne, I would but since I have a limited schedule I can't afford to have to get a ride and buy some stok for a plate and make one. So i'll take Jason's suggestion. I'll probably ban-aid it for now with some lawnmower fuel line until I have time to make a good plate for pre-mix.

lol, same thing happened to me. Thats when I decided to go premix compared to the $$$ for the new oin injector lines :/

Yeah it happened to me with my old 87 Sport. But I hate that you can't unplug and remove the pump in S5's.

Well i've made a temporary fix for the broken oil line and am waiting for the RTV to cure. Here are some pics of what I have been replacing and what the new part looks cleaned up. I was pleased with my wire wheel work. :D

hey Santiago, you still got those pics? they are all red X's.

I am planning to do a LIM swap on my s5 GXL soon, and this thread looks like a really great read before I dive in to the project. any chance you can resurrect those pics?
