Letter from Kickride about their headers

Hi Brian,
There are two options for an '86 Base model. The first is the street legal header and header adaptor which replace the manifold & precats. It bolts right up to the main cat from the motor. This kit sells for $299 plus shipping. The other option is the Race Header. It has 2.5" piping with .5" thick flanges. You would need to have something made for it to bolt up to your existing system but it gives you room to expand your system later if emissions isn't a concern. It sells for $194 plus shipping. You can expect a 20hp gain from either setup. Let us know if we can help with anything else.

Thanks!

I guess they make a header to bolt right up to my race pipe, but I don't think I need the pre cat do I :) Now, does adding a header really add 20 hp like he seems to claim? If so that's pretty nice, but if not then how much power would a header add?

Hey, thats nice i think i might look into gettone to bolt on to my race pipe!

I would expect at least 15hp.... From the true dual you can expect 34 RWHP!!

perhaps they mean 20fwhp I would doubt that just a header can do 20rwhp since most of the ones I see advertised offer 6-10hp from a header alone.

since fwhp and rwhp are the same thing....

he meant flywheel horsepower. maybe we should start calling it bhp. b=break=flywheel. this way nobody gets confused.

projekt 04-18-03 04:06 PM

that's what i call it...

man, those trailing periods are driving me nuts. i can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

Just for the sake of clarity:
It's Kickyride.com.
They offer Mindtrain exhaust products among other things.
As with EVERY HP claim made by a manufacturer, take it with two grains of salt. Remember they are trying to SELL you something.
And Mike at Kickyride is a good guy.
