alright so my bf had a engine swap done on his rx7, s4. he had them install a agressive street port engine with a nice size turbo, and haltech e6k , the works. all polished. a bunch of money into it to say the least


does this injector look like its not in all the way? it is a leaky injector. posibly the other side is the same issue.
notice the several lines of debris where the fuel filled up the area.

for the amount of money he spent. we shouldnt have a leaky injector that doesnt seem to be in place correctly
it is not an oem fuel rail.
p.s. the injector doesnt move up and down in place. it wont move down. or up. its firmly set in place between engine and rail though. it looks to have this gap with its leak:Wconfused

Looks like they re-used the old o-ring, thats all. Looks way too brown/crusty to be as new as the inectors and the KG rail.

No biggie, pull the upper, pull the primary rail and throw a set of o-rings on there. :)

the sad part is. if you knew how much he paid for the work....
and having problems like leaky injectors and the efan not being properly spaced away and cutting holes in the brand new radiator.:wallbash:

REALLY cool picture of the green coolant pissing away. Good camera work. Yes, o'rings need repalcement most likely at the top where it fits into the fuel rail. Buy a fire extinguisher if your running that engine. They're cheap.

OR it could be the aftermarket fuel rail isn't bored out right for the o'ring of the fuel injectors??? Possible. It really does not look rusty etc to me. Oh well. Just looks like a aftermarket fuel injector of another color. Maybe.

But anyway, if someone else installed the rail and injectors, and got dough for it, they should have pressue checked the installation before installing the intake manifold. That's why the fuel pump check connector exists in life. Its so you can install injectors/rails and then put the key to ON with the jumper in the check connector to pressurize the fuel rails to see if they............leak.

Who did this shoddy work? I'm sure he payed to much...
Tell them what they did wrong and that they're responsible for their work that he payed them for...

Poor workmanship + poor business = bankrupt and out of business

Another Great reason to do ALL your own automotive maintanence, repair, and tuning. (unless you know for a fact they're gonna do good work and stand behind it)

its actualy not on the top of the injector but bellow it on the grommet. so we are going to replace that.
only reason my bf did do all his own work. is because he was just starting out in the rotary world. and its the e6k. so its not so easy to just go in and install. expecialy on a beautifull engine like he got.

the work and welds are nice. but a few different things have been overlooked such as efan, injectors. and a few dryrotted vac line plugs causing vac leaks. good thing we have eachother to work on this car. we'll sort it out just fine now that its in and set up. but still. it should have all been done befor leaving shop in a timely manner

give or take a few. he was charged that much for everything.

Holy s**t I'd for sure be taking it to him to swap the grommet after that.

I hope he delivered the invoice with a complimentary jar of KY so he could firmly insert it up his ass.

Damn, well the overall shot looks pretty good! Maybe you could just get them to pay for the radiator...
So did they tune it? or just hook it up? Did They do everything?
Looks clean, but if they missed leaky inj.'s and a rubbing fan, what else did they miss? I'm not trying to worry you...
dang thats about 17k.... That motor better be new inside...

Maybe some HP numbers/pics/vids.

the tunning is poor. we cant tell if its from the leaky injector, the vac lines. or just the over all map. there is a lil bit of hesitation at 3,200 rpm. where it feels like it holds back for a slight seccond. and it runs a lil lean on idle. the idle bounces a lil bit. but untill we fix the fuel injector and inspect for further vac leaks. and take all the vaccume T's out (the 2 waist gates are t'd together in the same line as the haltech sensors. everything is on one vac line but bov)
then we will get a better idea what the bouncey idle problem is. most likely its the map. and we will be pulling that map this weekend.

the motor has 3k miles on it, and yeah i know...i do worry about how the motor will be future wise... but this expierience has taught me alot and i will be working on my FC with the help of my very rotary smart GF .
and as far as Linder Power Systems helping me , he is mad at me because i posted a bulliten on myspace that my E-fan put a hole in my radiator and that i had a leaky injector, i never sad anything bad about his company in the bulliten

AND? So what if they are mad.. F them.. If they charged you 17k for that little of work/parts/etc, they can LITERALLY afford the bad press. And if they refuse to work on it... keep giving them bad press. OVER AND OVER AND OVER.. .Heck, I'll put it in my sig!

For $17,400, very few FC's should outdo that car. Sadly, most are doing it with >$5000.

Ummm yeah that seal just looks bad or is not on the pinal cap all the way.

For 17k, that ass had better fly down from washington with a new radiator, new grommets, and a case of beer, not to mention steaks and a mouth ready to kiss some ass!!!!

its the sleepy eyes! fix those and everything will fix itself... haha jk. looks like a badass setup but $17k could have bought a lot more.

wow... I built my 10 sec car for less money then that... And the E6K is a GREAT ECU, and the one I currently use.

Screw the builder if they wont do the work that you paid them. Bad press keeps the idiots away. I could pick apart that build from the pics you just posted..

yeah...i learned an expensive lesson,im just planing doing everything else with my car. well with alot of help from my GF , but im no longer going to builders aside from BDC to do any work. BDC has been extremely helpful to me!! thank you BDC! :icon_tup:
