leaking oil and i dont know where from..
 

found my car leaking oil from BEHIND those 4 little fuel lines on the front left (facing car) of the engine....it looks like the guys that rebuilt the engine used silicone to seal instead of a gasket.....any ideas on what gasket is it (its not the seal that has the little o-ring that feeds oil to the rotors...the 4 gas line thing..) and how much i can have it replaced for???? does anyone know what it might be leaking from.....cause the leaks were a drop at first and now about a quart a week now.

you talking about the oil meetering pump?

are you sure its leaking from the actual gasket? there is an overflow hsoe one the bottom of the MOP, thats why theres usually oil there.. maybe youre jsut overfilling

not it is from behind the oil metering pump........i know that im not overfilling, cause yesterday my oil light came on and i had nothing on the dipstick when i checked it....i had to put in 2 and a half quarts to get to a safe level of oil

im sorry it is from behind the oil metering pump.

Check the area between the front cover and the waterpump for oil. Your front cover gasket may have been blown out. It's happened to me.

how hard is that to replace....i bought my car off my bro-in-law....and he had it built at a rx7 shop in orlando, fl....she has had over 2k invested in her under the hood and i dont know anything about rotors and i am in the process of learning.

First of all, why are you letting your engine get 2 1/2 quarts low on oil? Check your oil daily, if you care about this car, and buy a manual, read past questions by people who don't care about fluid levels, and post again when your engine seizes up. Thanks for the information, I realize I'm not as stupid as I thought, cause my engine has oil in it.

It's very difficult. And unless you have a good understanding of rotaries, I'd suggest you take it back to that shop and have them diagnose and repair the problem. An oil leak from the front cover is definatly not a beginner repair, or even for a piston mechanic. If you screw up those bearings in the front stack you can kiss that engine and it's 2000 dollars worth of work goodbye.
