leaking gas under turbo.

i have an 87 rx7 turbo and i went to try to start it up and it wouldnt start. instead gas was leaking under the turbo. could the engine be so flooded that the gas is just leaking out of engine? what should i do if not.

Yup, i just had the same problem. You need to take out your plugs and clean them out. While you're at it you should check if you have spark coming from the plugs. then unflood and it should start.

search "fuel pressure damper" or "fpd" or "pd"... that's what it sounds like to me. It's not really leaking from the turbo. The damper is on the end of the primary fuel rail, they like to start leaking like crazy all of a sudden. Oh, fix it ASAP and don't drive it... pretty common for them to catch on fire because of this.

well i checked out presure damper and replaced it with one off another rx7 tII i had and it still leaks. there was no gas between the upper and lower manifold. so it is probably coming from the exhaust manifold

There is no fuel passage within the exhaust manifold. If you are sure that it's not coming from the top of the engine, it means that the car is very, very flooded.

Edit...and the only time I've ever seen a car that flooded was when a secondary injector was stuck wide open and firehosing fuel into the intake.
