leaking coolant from firewall?
so i finally traced down the coolant ive been leaking all the way back to this hose. from what im told its the heater hose but i have no idea why its leaking the clamp on it is brand new. if you look directly under the hose u can see how water has been leaking from the hose and it has dried or something.

so is it getting inside the passenger side? i had the problem where coolant was getting inside and there was huge puddle on the passenger side carpet. or is it on the other side of the firewall?

i would take that hose clamp off and make sure there are no cuts on the hose.

How old is the hose? That looks like the driver-side heater hose, which loves to fail and kill engines. If it isn't brand new, I'd pick up a new one from Mazda for peace of mind. Unfortunately, that's also probably the most expensive formed hose on the car. It doesn't really matter how new a hose clamp is. If the hose is failing, no clamp will seal it.

I just bought all three heater hoses from Malloy Mazda. That one was $29; the other two were $15 each. Not dirt cheap, but not that bad either for something that you probably only need to replace every 10 years.

lol i just got the hose from pick and pull so im not sure of the condition its in it looks pretty good and i didnt notice any cuts in the hose i might have tightened the clap too tight and pinched it so ill have to check it

Did you use pliers to pull off the old hose? I've seen people do that and oval the nipple on the fire wall. If that happens you don't get a tight seal which of course, results in a leak.
