leaking clear liquid!!

My 1988 turbo II is leaking a clear oderless liquid from the underside, to the left of the oilpan and right in front of the downpipe any ideas what it could be???

Smell it. It can only be water or gas...

make sure its not your burp tank overflowing.

It could be condensation from the Air Conditioning if you have been running it.

turn off the A/C

problem solved!

The only way to know.... is to ..... taste it....

KeeganP 07-29-06 06:15 AM

If you really want to get a good taste, collect it in a glass and then drink it :molepoke: If it doesn't taste good, add Kool-Aid and sugar.

Seriously though, does your radiator have coolant in it, or straight water? That's good to know.

I remember last time my sister car over for an oil change I got all worked up because I saw 'water' leaking from some spot.

Later I realized that she'd just ran the winsheild washer fluid, and it was running down the gutters.

It could be that, it could be condensation from the A/C .... I really hope you don't just have just water in your coolant system, lol.....

but before you get all bent out of shape

leave your car out on a level surface and put a peice of cardboard under your engine bay. Hours later, if the spot has showed up, pay attention to where it came from. If you can determine the source, it's a LOT easier to figure out what it is that's leaking.

sorry I wasn't paying much attention before my last responce. But still, pay a little more attention to where it's actually coming from, grab a light and get under your car.

Tell the mice / rats to stop having sex under your car.

Mmmmm...rodent sperm...

Seriously though, I put money on AC condensation, since the drain is in that location.

thanks

yeah I use coolant not water and the liquid coming out has no smell so I am leaning toward water, thanks for all the input....I guess the only thing left to do is taste it. :squint:
