Leak around Injector, looking for what to replace
 
Hey guys,

So I had a pretty decent fire around my Intake and as I was pulling it out to replace vacuum hoses and OMP lines, I think I found the source of the leak.

On the primary injector, there is a good leak coming off that is circled red in the picture below.

Was wondering if anyone could help me identify the part and where I could get some replacements at.

More information, these hoses run from underneath the primary injectors and are located near the OMP lines, right by the vacuum hoses that connect to the dynamic chamber on the side, facing the fan.

Just trying to give out some more infomation on where it is located because I have no idea what these hoses are and really would like to know so I can order the parts.

this looks like the fuel pulsation dampener. these things leak (the s4 units leaks externally, i think the s5 units leak internally as they are part of the rail and cannot be removed). there have been some serious debates on if it is necessary. It is, but its not gonna bust your shit if you just run AN fittings and call it a day.

the stock one costs an arm and a leg i dont know how much they cost. like 250+ bucks? who knows. just do what most do and throw a banjo bolt on there and call it a day.

you can run an aftermarket unit as well and some aftermarket fuel pressure regulators come with the ability built in to dampen fuel pulsations.

do it how you want.

Looking at some diagrams from the haynes manual and everything I could find from either this forum or google, I dont think it is the fuel Damp, seeing as the leak is located underneath the fuel rail on the other side of the Fuel Damp. Those nozzles in the picture are the Oil metering lines.

Again, not too sure and just wanted confirmation before just ordering parts, though I am completely redoing the vac lines and OMP lines.

The injectors use O-rings for their seal into the rail.

So I figured out it was the fuel clips that hook onto to injectors that are leaking, anyone know where I can pick some up or will an FD injector clients work on my fc?

I wouldn't worry about what caused it. A leak caused it. What caused it is the least of your worries at this point. I imagine you'll be repairing wires, replacing hoses, replace PD, etc.., since they are all lying in ashes on top of your engine lol.

Yup, mainly vaccum hoses, imp lines, fuel lines, and air hoses, basically everything from the rats nest down. Though I still need help finding the injector fuel connectors that go from the injector to the feed hose.

what are you talking about? thats what the fuel rail does. the injectors get crammed into the fuel rails, and the rails sammich the injectors down and snug them tight. then a hose goes to the rails. there isnt a "connector" unless its the injector pigtails. if thats the case, you can find injector pigtails for cheap on amazon. search for EV1 injector pigtails. depending on the year, there is a locator indention on the injector that can be offset. if its offset and cant fit an ev1 connector, just file it down. no harm there

Reguardless if it was the fuel pulsation damper leaking or not, I would Delete it with a Banjo bolt mod. as it got hot from the fire, and may fail quickly.

Replace all vacuum lines,rubber fuel lines, OMP lines, all injector gromets, top and bottom, and orings. and hten it looks like u will want to replace the fuel injector wiring, and connectors. and the injectors them selves may be damaged as well, if the plastic is melted.
